5V / 230V relay. Ideal for home use with arduino.
10A in 220V / 10A in 24V / 10A in 110V. A relay is an electrical switch that controls a second circuit that typically uses much higher voltage and current than the Arduino could accept (for example, turning on / off a 220V bulb). There is no connection between the low voltage circuit of the Arduino / TinkerKit and the high voltage circuit. The relay is a simple on / off switch mechanism: it closes when the input is at 5V and opens when the input is at 0V. It will be controlled from the digitalWrite () function in the Arduino programming environment. The module provides three COM, NC and NO connections. NC means 'NORMALLY CLOSED'. This means that when the relay does not have an input signal (LOW value in digitalWrite ()), the connected high voltage circuit will be active. If, on the other hand, you apply a voltage of 5V to the relay, the secondary circuit will be cut off. NO means 'NORMALLY OPEN'. This means that, conversely, a value of 5V applied to the relay (HIGH value in digitalWrite ()) will cut the high voltage circuit and vice versa. To replace a conventional switch with the module, the procedure is simple: Remove the switch and connect the wires to the COM and NO inputs. In this way, when the relay is activated via digitalWrite, the current flows through the device you want to control.
